Chery Master Pakistan is set to begin local assembly of hybrid vehicles in January 2026 at its newly developed manufacturing facility in the National Industrial Park, Port Qasim, Karachi. The plant spans over 60 acres and represents a significant $150 million investment in Pakistan’s automotive sector.
This move was officially announced during a site ceremony where company officials outlined plans not only for production but also for the development of a comprehensive dealership network. Ten outlets are expected to launch across seven major cities in 2026, aiming to strengthen Chery’s presence in the local market.
Chery, currently China’s top automobile export brand, operates in over 120 countries worldwide. In Pakistan, the company plans to locally assemble four models from its flagship Tiggo lineup — the Tiggo Cross, Tiggo 7, Tiggo 8, and Tiggo 9 — all equipped with advanced plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) technology.
According to Samir Malik, CEO of Master Auto Engineering, the joint venture with Chery Automobile Ltd. marks a significant milestone for Pakistan’s transition toward sustainable mobility. He emphasized that this initiative will not only bring cutting-edge hybrid technology to the country but also generate over 2,000 new jobs and build local expertise in New Energy Vehicle (NEV) technologies.
This investment reinforces Pakistan’s growing potential as a hub for clean and innovative automotive manufacturing, while contributing to the broader goal of developing an environmentally responsible transportation infrastructure.
