The University of Glasgow is offering the International Leadership Scholarship for the academic year 2025–2026, welcoming applications from international and EU students (excluding the UK) who demonstrate leadership potential and academic excellence. A total of 300 scholarships will be available to students applying for eligible postgraduate taught Master’s programmes. This partial scholarship provides a financial contribution of £10,000 towards tuition fees, making it a valuable opportunity for talented students aiming to study in the UK.

Applicants do not need to submit a separate application for this funding opportunity. All applicants who receive an admission offer for an eligible postgraduate programme starting in September 2025 will automatically be considered for the scholarship. Evaluation is based on academic merit and leadership potential, and decisions will be made within six weeks of the program offer. This award is open only to students with international fee status from a broad list of eligible countries across Africa, Asia, Europe (excluding the UK), the Americas, and Oceania.

The University of Glasgow is a globally recognized research institution located in Scotland. It ranks among the top 100 universities worldwide, currently holding the 78th position in the QS World University Rankings for 2025. With a rich academic heritage and diverse international student community, the university offers a wide range of taught Master’s programmes eligible under this scholarship. These include fields such as business, engineering, health sciences, computing, law, arts, education, environmental science, and many others.

To be eligible, applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree equivalent to a UK first-class honours, have strong academic performance, and meet the specific entry requirements of the chosen programme. Additionally, they must receive and accept an offer for a qualifying course before being considered for funding. Students must also ensure they fall under the international fee-paying category and come from one of the approved countries.

Recipients of the scholarship will benefit not only from the financial assistance but also from access to a world-class education system and an opportunity to join a globally diverse academic environment. The scholarship is highly competitive and seeks individuals who can demonstrate both academic excellence and leadership capacity.

Application for the scholarship does not require additional forms. Once students submit a complete application for admission to an eligible postgraduate programme, they are automatically reviewed for scholarship consideration. Required documents include academic transcripts, degree certificates, a reference letter, and other programme-specific documents, as well as a copy of the applicant’s passport. It is important to check the individual deadlines for each course as they vary by programme.

The University of Glasgow encourages all eligible international students who meet the criteria to apply for a postgraduate programme and take advantage of this significant opportunity to further their education and leadership journey in the UK.
