Gold prices in Pakistan were unchanged on Saturday, with 24-karat gold holding at Rs 429,136 per tola following a sharp drop of Rs 6,500 a day earlier, according to rates published by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA). The 10-gram rate for the same purity also remained flat at Rs 367,914.

The stability ended a volatile stretch for the local market. Buyers who had hoped for a further reduction after Friday's decline did not see one, as the association kept Saturday's rate fixed at the level reached following the previous day's fall. Compared with Friday morning, before that drop, one tola is still Rs 6,500 cheaper.

In the international market, gold was steady at $4,066 per ounce, mirroring the calm seen in domestic rates. Silver moved in the opposite direction, slipping by Rs 10 to Rs 5,668 per tola.

The APGJSA rates reflect pure 24-karat gold only. Jewellery buyers typically pay making charges on top of the published rate, so the final retail price at shops is usually higher than the per-tola figure.

Gold has seen wide swings in Pakistan in recent months, with the local rate falling sharply on some days and gaining large amounts on others as international prices and the rupee-dollar exchange rate shifted. Traders and consumers continue to watch both factors for direction.

Saturday's unchanged rate offers little clarity on the next move, with the market pausing rather than reversing Friday's decline. Buyers and investors will likely look to international price trends and currency movements in the coming sessions for a clearer signal.
