Lahore Police Tighten Security at Metro Bus and Orange Line Stations to Curb Harassment
Lahore police have launched a fresh security push at Metro Bus and Orange Line stations, with SP Dolphin Bilal Ahmed leading audits and directing staff to act firmly against harassment of women and children.

Lahore police have stepped up security arrangements at all Metro Bus and Orange Line stations, assigning SP Dolphin Bilal Ahmed a special task to oversee the measures. The move follows directives from the DIG Operations, who said the dignity and safety of passengers is the force's top priority and stressed that the arrangements must cover travellers using both public transport services.
As part of the assignment, Bilal Ahmed toured stations across the city, reviewing security setups and issuing instructions for special measures at each location. He also held dedicated meetings with the staff deployed at the stations to reinforce their responsibilities.
The inspection covered Shahdara, Bhati Gate, MAO College, Gaddafi Stadium and several other stations, where security audits were carried out. According to a Dolphin spokesperson, the audits are intended to ensure the safety of women and children who rely on these services.
Bilal Ahmed said police are taking concrete steps to protect citizens using public transport and that officers are acting firmly against anyone who harasses women and children at stations. He also directed personnel to closely monitor suspicious activity around all Orange Line and Metro Bus stations.
The renewed focus on safety comes as the two mass-transit systems remain a key mode of daily travel for thousands of commuters in Lahore. Officials said the inspections are part of an ongoing effort to maintain order and reassure passengers, particularly women and families, that their security is being taken seriously.
