Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting Barrister Danyal Chaudhry inaugurated the reconstructed Rawal Road and Band Khanna Road in Rawalpindi on Friday, underscoring the government's commitment to improving urban infrastructure. The ceremony marked the completion of significant road reconstruction projects aimed at enhancing traffic flow and connectivity in the district.
Speaking at the event, Chaudhry announced that construction of the Gangal to Expressway Link Road would also be completed soon, further improving transportation links across the region. He emphasized that the government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, is actively pursuing development projects in healthcare, education, and municipal infrastructure throughout Rawalpindi.
Chaudhry acknowledged the sacrifices of Pakistan's armed forces in defending the country's sovereignty and security, under the leadership of Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir. He stressed that national unity and security require collective responsibility from all segments of society.
The parliamentary secretary also stated that the government would not tolerate attempts to destabilize the country or incidents such as the May 9 violence. He added that he would continue to raise issues related to public welfare, public relief, and infrastructure development at legislative forums.
The reopening of these major roads is expected to ease traffic congestion and facilitate smoother movement for residents and commuters in Rawalpindi. The government's focus on infrastructure development aligns with broader efforts to modernize urban centers and enhance public services across Punjab.
