Rawalpindi Police to Launch E-Ticketing and Digital Guest Monitoring Ahead of Pakistan-Sri Lanka Test
Ahead of the Pakistan-Sri Lanka Test match in November, Rawalpindi police will roll out the Travel Eye and Hotel Eye apps to digitally track bus passengers and hotel guests, alongside heightened surveillance and a new police post at the General Bus Stand.

Rawalpindi police are set to introduce digital monitoring of passengers and visitors at bus stands, hotels and guesthouses as part of a security plan tied to the upcoming Pakistan-Sri Lanka Test match, scheduled to be played in the city from November 9 to 13.
Under the arrangement, authorities will implement e-ticketing at bus and wagon stands through the Travel Eye application, creating digital records of passengers travelling to and from Rawalpindi. Separately, the Hotel Eye app will be used to compile records of guests staying at hotels, guesthouses, inns and private rest houses.
A police official said the two applications would help law enforcement agencies keep track of visitors, verify passenger details and flag wanted suspects entering the city or checking into local accommodations.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Malik Tariq Mahboob chaired a meeting to review the security arrangements, which was attended by representatives of the Regional Transport Authority, the Counter-Terrorism Department, Special Branch, City Traffic Police and other departments.
The SSP said surveillance at bus and wagon stands would be stepped up and a dedicated police post would be established inside the General Bus Stand as part of the wider security measures.
The move reflects a growing reliance on digital record-keeping tools by law enforcement in major Pakistani cities, with the aim of streamlining verification of travellers and guests during high-profile public events.
