Rescue 1122 in Murree has issued a winter safety warning, urging residents and travelers to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary journeys due to forecasts of severe weather. All rescue stations in Murree and Kotli Sattian have been placed on full alert under the Emergency Core Plan in preparation for heavy rain, hail, and snowfall, as predicted by the Pakistan Meteorological Department.

The Met Office has forecast rain, thunderstorms, strong winds, and snowfall in Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Talagang, and other northern areas from November 3 to 5, as western winds affect the upper regions of the country. To respond effectively, Rescue 1122 teams have been equipped with rescue vehicles, ambulances, and essential life-saving equipment, and round-the-clock camps have been established to assist the public.

Officials warned that winter conditions often lead to a rise in accidents due to slippery roads, heavy snow, and cold temperatures. People are advised to avoid unnecessary travel, use snow chains on vehicles, keep adequate fuel, and contact the Rescue 1122 helpline in emergencies. Authorities stressed the importance of staying alert, following safety guidelines, and taking necessary precautions to reduce risks during the harsh winter season.
