Premium Textile Mills Invests $4.15 Million in New Wind Turbine to Boost Renewable Energy

Premium Textile Mills Limited has announced a significant investment of $4.15 million to install a new 7.5MW wind turbine, marking a major step in the company’s ongoing transition toward renewable energy. This initiative is part of the company’s broader strategy to reduce its carbon footprint, enhance energy efficiency, and move closer to meeting sustainability goals.

The company already operates 20MW of solar power capacity and has a separate 7.5MW wind energy project currently under development. With the addition of the new wind turbine, Premium Textile Mills’ total wind energy capacity will reach 15MW. This expanded capacity is expected to generate approximately 55.2 gigawatt-hours of clean electricity each year, which will significantly reduce the company’s reliance on conventional energy sources. The project is projected to cut around 30,000 metric tons of carbon emissions annually, contributing to both environmental protection and compliance with global climate standards.

By integrating this new wind turbine with its existing solar infrastructure, Premium Textile Mills aims to meet nearly 67% of its total energy requirements through renewable sources. The move demonstrates the company’s commitment to sustainable industrial practices while also providing long-term financial benefits through reduced energy costs. Beyond energy generation, the project aligns with global trends toward clean energy adoption in the manufacturing sector and reinforces the company’s position as a responsible corporate entity investing in environmentally friendly solutions.
