The government has sanctioned Rs580 million for the construction of the Datta-Kotkay Bypass, a vital new route that will connect the Karakoram Highway (KKH) with the Mansehra-Naran-Jalkhad (MNJ) Road. This strategic project aims to reduce traffic congestion in Mansehra and significantly cut travel time for tourists traveling toward Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Approved by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker Babar Saleem Swati, the Datta-Kotkay Bypass is expected to play a key role in boosting tourism and economic activity in the Kaghan Valley region. By providing an alternative route, the bypass will not only enhance travel convenience for visitors but also promote local trade and business opportunities along the corridor.
In addition to the bypass, the government has allocated Rs100 million for road and pavement development projects in Safada village. These infrastructure upgrades reflect a broader effort to improve regional connectivity, support local communities, and strengthen the overall transportation network in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
