The Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme has been officially launched in Sindh from NED University Karachi, marking the distribution of 20,000 laptops to students across the province. The initiative is aimed at promoting digital inclusion, strengthening academic research, and enhancing access to modern technology for students in higher education institutions.

Federal Government Spokesperson for Sindh Affairs Raja Khaliq Zaman Ansari said the laptop scheme focuses on equipping young people with essential digital skills, describing youth education as a cornerstone of national progress and economic development. He noted that access to technology plays a vital role in helping students compete in an increasingly digital and knowledge-driven world.

Ansari said the scheme, which was discontinued in 2018, has been revived by the current federal government with an emphasis on transparency, merit, and effective implementation. He credited the leadership of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme for restoring the initiative and ensuring that it reaches deserving students across Sindh.

According to Ansari, the distribution of laptops will support students in information technology, research activities, and advanced academic learning, enabling them to improve their skills and academic performance. He added that the federal government is committed to ensuring that students in Sindh remain fully included in national education and technology programs.

He further reaffirmed the government’s long-term commitment to education-focused policies and practical measures aimed at empowering youth, stating that continued investment in students is essential for building a skilled and competitive workforce for the future.
