The Maryam Nawaz Easy Home Loan 2026, officially called “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar,” is a transformative initiative by the Punjab government aimed at providing affordable housing to low and middle-income families. Launched under the Chief Minister’s vision, the program offers interest-free loans of up to Rs. 1.5 million to help families build their homes. By January 2026, the initiative targets the completion of over 100,000 houses, making it one of Pakistan’s largest housing programs.

The program is designed to make homeownership accessible, transparent, and manageable. Key features include interest-free loans where borrowers repay only the principal, flexible monthly installments of around Rs. 14,000, a 90-day grace period to start construction without immediate payments, and repayment tenures of seven to nine years to reduce financial pressure. This structure allows families to construct homes without falling into debt traps.

Eligibility criteria ensure that the benefits reach deserving families. Applicants must be permanent residents of Punjab with CNIC verification. Land requirements specify plot sizes of 1–5 Marlas in urban areas and 1–10 Marlas in rural regions. Family income should preferably be below Rs. 60,000 per month, applicants must have a clean financial record without bank defaults, and priority is given to families with a poverty score (PMT) of 60 or below in the NSER/PSER database.

The application process is fully digital, emphasizing transparency and merit-based selection. Interested applicants can register through the official portal at acag.punjab.gov.pk by creating an account, filling in personal and household details, and uploading required documents, including CNIC copies, proof of plot ownership, and recent photographs of the plot. After submission, applicants receive a tracking ID via SMS to monitor the application status. No fees are required, and official notifications are sent through the portal or SMS to prevent scams.

The program offers flexible loan execution models to suit different needs. Self-construction loans are available for those already owning land, subsidized loans can be used to purchase homes in approved private housing schemes, and state land projects enable the construction of apartments or small houses on government land in major cities like Lahore, Faisalabad, and Multan. These models cater to both urban and rural families, expanding homeownership opportunities across Punjab.

Recent updates as of January 2026 include computerized monthly balloting to select applicants fairly, disbursement of over Rs. 8.5 billion to more than 9,000 beneficiaries in Phase II, and the inclusion of joint family applications on ancestral land. The program maintains strict transparency, with official communication conducted only through SMS and the ACAG portal.

The Maryam Nawaz Easy Home Loan 2026 represents a major step toward affordable and sustainable housing in Punjab. By providing interest-free loans, flexible repayment options, and a fully digital application process, the program enables low and middle-income families to achieve homeownership safely and efficiently.
