SNGPL Announces New Winter Gas Schedule for 2025 Amid Nationwide Shortage

Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has announced a revised nationwide gas supply schedule for the 2025 winter season in response to increasing demand and ongoing shortages. Under the new plan, domestic consumers will have access to gas during three designated time slots each day: from 5:30 AM to 8:30 AM, 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, and 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM.

The schedule applies to all cities and regions within the SNGPL network, including Lahore, Islamabad, and other major urban and rural areas. Outside these specified hours, gas pressure will be significantly reduced, and in some areas, supply may be temporarily suspended. According to SNGPL officials, this step is necessary to ensure equitable distribution of limited gas reserves and to help households manage essential needs such as cooking and heating throughout the winter.

Citizens are advised to plan their daily routines around the announced timings to minimize inconvenience. The company also emphasized the importance of using gas responsibly and reporting any cases of gas theft or illegal connections that contribute to the crisis.

SNGPL clarified that the current schedule is a temporary measure and will be adjusted based on weather conditions, consumption patterns, and overall supply levels. The company reaffirmed its commitment to managing the energy shortfall efficiently and ensuring that all consumers, especially in colder regions, receive a fair share of the available gas during peak winter months.
