Pakistan is set to establish its first university-based science and technology park following government approval for a strategic agreement with Enertech Holding Company, a subsidiary of the Kuwait Investment Authority. This landmark initiative will be developed under a government-to-government (G2G) arrangement, using a public-private partnership (PPP) model to foster innovation, research, and development in science and technology. The science and technology park aims to strengthen collaboration between academia and industry, creating an ecosystem that supports startups, tech companies, and research institutions within a university environment. By integrating academic expertise with real-world applications, the park is expected to accelerate Pakistan’s transition toward a knowledge-based economy. The signing ceremony for this transformative project is scheduled to take place by the end of October 2025. Once operational, the science park will serve as a hub for advanced research, entrepreneurship, and commercialization of new technologies, positioning Pakistan as a regional player in the tech and innovation sector.
