Pakistan’s IT sector has achieved significant growth, with exports surpassing $2.23 billion in the first half of fiscal year 2026, reflecting a 19.5% year-on-year increase, according to the State Bank of Pakistan. December 2025 recorded a notable milestone, with monthly IT exports reaching $437 million, marking a 25% rise compared to the same month last year.

The growth is largely driven by government incentives, active participation in international trade fairs, and the expanding role of freelancers in the industry. Freelance contributions are expected to reach between $0.8 billion and $1 billion by the end of FY26, highlighting the increasing global demand for Pakistani IT talent. The sector’s performance underscores Pakistan’s emerging position as a competitive player in software development, IT services, and digital exports on the international stage.
