Pakistani Rupee Inches Up Against US Dollar as Euro and Pound Weaken in Interbank Market

The Pakistani Rupee showed a slight improvement against the US Dollar in interbank trading, gaining 01 paisa to settle at Rs. 281.16, up from the previous closing rate of Rs. 281.17, based on figures released by the State Bank of Pakistan. In the open market, the US Dollar was seen at Rs. 282.65 for buying and Rs. 282.85 for selling, according to data from the Forex Association of Pakistan.

Among other major currencies, the Euro declined by Rs. 0.35, closing at Rs. 326.16 compared to the earlier rate of Rs. 326.51. The Japanese Yen remained stable at Rs. 1.84. The British Pound registered a sharper decline, losing Rs. 0.70 to end at Rs. 374.87, down from Rs. 374.17. The Emirates Dirham eased by 01 paisa to close at Rs. 76.54, while the Saudi Riyal maintained its previous level at Rs. 74.96.

Market analysts observed limited trading activity, attributing the cautious sentiment to ongoing geopolitical concerns and a reserved outlook across regional financial markets.
