Gold Prices in Pakistan Drop, But Consumers Face Unexpected Challenges

Gold prices in Pakistan fell on Tuesday, following losses in the international market. The price of gold per tola dropped by Rs. 1,500 to Rs. 530,562, while 10-gram gold declined by Rs. 1,286 to Rs. 454,871, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).

On Monday, gold had surged, with the per tola rate rising by Rs. 10,900 to Rs. 532,062. In the international market, gold per ounce fell by $15 to $5,082 after a three-day pause, influencing lower local rates.

In contrast, silver prices climbed to record highs. Internationally, silver increased by $2.12 to $111.65 per ounce. Locally, silver per tola rose by Rs. 212 to Rs. 11,640, and 10-gram silver increased by Rs. 182 to Rs. 9,979, reflecting the global surge.
