RDA Takes Strict Action Against Popular Housing Scheme Over Regulatory Violations

The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has initiated legal action against the Faisal Town Housing Scheme for serious violations of approved regulations. The authority filed a first information report at the Airport Police Station against the owner and management of Faisal Town, leading to the arrest of the owner’s brother with police assistance.

According to the RDA, the management failed to commence development of the sewerage treatment plant, did not allot 53 plots within the scheme, and neglected the development of the designated nullah, constituting clear breaches of the approved layout plan. The authority acted under the Punjab Development of Cities Act, 1976, after multiple notices to the housing scheme went unaddressed.

RDA Director General Kinza Murtaza stated that strict legal action will continue against all illegal or non-compliant housing schemes without discrimination. She emphasized the authority’s commitment to protecting citizens’ rights and instructed officers to intensify operations against other schemes violating regulations.
