Wateen Telecom Recognised for Cybersecurity Excellence at PTA Awards 2026

Wateen Telecom has been honoured with a Cybersecurity Excellence award at the Telecom Cybersecurity Awards 2026, presented by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) at the closing ceremony of Cybersecurity Awareness Week 2026.

The award acknowledges the company's efforts in cybersecurity governance and implementation, including work to strengthen security frameworks, improve organisational cyber resilience, and embed cybersecurity practices across its digital infrastructure and day-to-day operations.

According to the company, the recognition reflects a sustained focus on strong governance, effective security controls and proactive risk management as cybersecurity becomes an increasingly important part of Pakistan's digital transformation. Wateen said it aims to lead by example in building a secure, resilient and trusted digital ecosystem.

The company also thanked the PTA for the recognition and for bringing industry stakeholders together to work toward a safer digital Pakistan.

The Telecom Cybersecurity Awards form part of the regulator's broader push to raise security standards across the country's telecom sector as operators expand digital services and handle growing volumes of sensitive data.
