Authorities will organize a Ramzan Bachat Festival at Jilani Park from February 13 to 15 to provide discounted essential food items ahead of Ramadan. The initiative aims to offer financial relief to citizens by reducing the cost of key household commodities before the holy month.
A coordination meeting chaired by DG Food Authority Asim Javed reviewed arrangements with relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation. Special relief stalls will provide flour, ghee, pulses, sugar, rice, fruits, vegetables, and other essential items at subsidized rates to help families manage pre-Ramadan expenses.
Officials said strict monitoring mechanisms will be in place to maintain food safety and quality standards, with continuous inspections to oversee supply and pricing. Alongside discounted shopping, the festival will feature cultural activities to create a family-friendly environment. The government has emphasized that price relief on essential items before Ramadan remains a priority, with broader concessions planned to ease the burden on consumers.
