The Junior Summer Institute (JSI) 2026 in the USA is a fully funded opportunity for students from diverse academic and social backgrounds who aspire to pursue graduate studies or careers in public policy, public administration, and international affairs. Organized under the Public Policy and International Affairs (PPIA) Fellowship, this prestigious summer program is hosted by top universities including Harvard University, Princeton University, and the University of Michigan. It offers participants a transformative experience through intensive coursework, leadership development, and career preparation designed to strengthen their readiness for graduate school and future roles in public service. The PPIA Junior Summer Institute is a seven-week academic and professional training program that focuses on developing future leaders who are committed to public impact and inclusive governance. Fellows gain in-depth knowledge of global and domestic policy issues, enhance their analytical and communication skills, and explore diverse career paths within government, nonprofit, and international sectors. Participants benefit from an immersive learning environment at leading U.S. universities while connecting with mentors, professors, and peers who share a passion for social change and equitable leadership. Selected fellows will receive full financial coverage, including a summer stipend, funded coursework, textbooks, and on-campus accommodation. In addition to academic enrichment, the program provides personalized career coaching, networking opportunities, and access to exclusive events like the Public Service Expo, where participants can engage with professionals, graduate schools, and public institutions. Upon completion, fellows become part of the extensive PPIA Alumni Network, a global community of over 5,000 professionals working in government, NGOs, academia, and international organizations. Applicants must be current college juniors pursuing their first bachelor’s degree at a U.S.-based institution and should be on track to graduate between December 2026 and August 2027. The program welcomes U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and DACA recipients for all sites, while international students studying in the U.S. may apply to the Princeton University JSI program. The 2026 JSI sessions will take place at three prestigious universities: Harvard University (June 14–July 31, 2026), Princeton University (June 8–July 24, 2026), and the University of Michigan (June 7–July 25, 2026). Each institution will independently review applications and select its own fellows based on academic merit, leadership potential, and commitment to public service. This fully funded program serves as a stepping stone for students seeking to strengthen their leadership capacity and make meaningful contributions to public policy and international affairs. Interested applicants must complete the online application process, submit all required documents, and apply before the final deadline on November 1, 2025.
