The CrossCulture Program (CCP) in Germany 2026 is a fully funded fellowship opportunity designed to promote intercultural dialogue, professional collaboration, and civil society development across the world. Funded by the German Federal Foreign Office and implemented by the Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen (IFA), this prestigious exchange program annually supports around 55–60 professionals and dedicated volunteers from over 40 countries. The initiative focuses on empowering individuals working in civil society sectors by fostering global connections and sharing knowledge across diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.

The program lasts for two to three months, during which participants engage in professional placements within host organizations based either in Germany or in CCP partner countries. Fellows gain hands-on experience, enhance leadership and intercultural communication skills, and participate in a series of workshops, networking events, and professional development activities. The host organizations also benefit from the fellows’ regional insights, professional expertise, and local networks. Upon returning home, participants are expected to apply their learning to strengthen their own communities and organizations.

The 2026 CCP will focus on key themes such as democratic resilience and the culture of remembrance, encouraging collaboration among professionals working in policy, human rights, education, media, and related fields.

The fellowship provides generous financial support, including a monthly stipend of €650 for international participants and €1,200 for those residing in Germany. The funding covers living expenses, international travel, accommodation, health insurance, local transportation, and visa fees. Fellows also receive personalized mentorship and access to CCP’s alumni network, creating opportunities for long-term cooperation and continued professional growth.

Eligible applicants must be at least 23 years old, have at least two years of professional or volunteer experience in a civil society organization, and demonstrate proficiency in English. Students are not eligible to apply, and while knowledge of German is advantageous, it is not required. Applicants should have a strong record of community engagement or social initiative, and those collaborating with partner organizations in target countries will be given preference.

To apply, candidates must complete the online application form on the official CCP portal, selecting their country and fellowship call. Required documents include a detailed curriculum vitae, a letter of recommendation (using the provided template), and optionally, a photograph. Only online submissions will be accepted.

The deadline to apply for the CrossCulture Program in Germany 2026 is December 10, 2025. This fellowship offers a rare chance to gain international exposure, advance professional development, and contribute to global civil society through meaningful cross-cultural collaboration.
