Three Teams Demand Player Auction Ahead of PSL 11

Three Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) franchises—Karachi Kings, Islamabad United, and Quetta Gladiators—have reportedly proposed switching to an auction model for the upcoming 11th edition of the tournament. The teams have communicated their preference to PSL management and raised operational questions regarding direct signings, player category finalization, and consultation on team decisions.

The franchises advocating for an auction argue that the current draft system favors teams with early picks, allowing them to secure top talent more easily. They believe an auction would create a more competitive and equitable process, giving all franchises a fair chance to acquire key players.

Not all teams share this view: Lahore Qalandars reportedly prefer keeping the draft system, while Peshawar Zalmi has not yet stated its position. Discussions among franchise circles are ongoing, and an official response from PSL management is still awaited.
