The risk of the superflu virus in Pakistan has escalated due to the absence of a vaccine, a concern highlighted during a recent session of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Parliament. During the PAC sub-committee meeting, Convener Shahida Akhtar raised alarms about the lack of medicines for flu and allergies even at the Parliament dispensary, emphasizing that serious complaints about the spread of the superflu virus are emerging nationwide. Officials from the Ministry of Health informed the committee that no confirmed diagnostic test or vaccine for the superflu virus is currently available anywhere in the world, underscoring the urgency of precautionary measures and public awareness to contain its potential impact.
