The Punjab government has launched EcoBot, Pakistan’s first AI-powered environmental chatbot, designed to provide real-time updates on air quality and environmental guidance. The chatbot is accessible via WhatsApp using a QR code, allowing users to interact in English or Urdu. EcoBot provides accurate Air Quality Index (AQI) readings, health tips, and awareness messages to help citizens make informed decisions about outdoor activities and personal well-being.
Initially, EcoBot covers major cities including Lahore, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, and Multan. Future updates are planned to expand its functionality to include noise pollution monitoring, waste management guidance, and reporting of environmental violations. The initiative is aimed at enhancing public engagement, increasing environmental transparency, and encouraging proactive participation by citizens in adopting eco-friendly practices throughout Punjab. By combining technology with environmental awareness, EcoBot represents a significant step toward building a healthier and more sustainable province.
