The Sindh government has announced the launch of the second phase of the Pink Scooty Scheme after the program’s successful rollout in September. Senior Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon confirmed that preparations are in progress to start distributing scooters under this new phase.

He encouraged women to obtain driving licenses, complete training sessions, and register for the program to take advantage of the initiative. The government’s goal is to empower more women by helping them travel safely and independently for education and employment. According to the minister, the first phase of the Pink Scooty Scheme received an exceptional response, with many women learning to ride, securing their licenses, and using the scooters for their daily commutes.

Sharjeel also emphasized the government’s broader efforts to improve public transport across Karachi through initiatives such as the People’s Bus Service, Pink Bus Service, and Electric Bus Service. He said the Pink Scooty Scheme complements these projects by providing women with an affordable, safe, and dignified mobility option within the city.
