Sindh has approved the implementation of a Uniform Examination Standard for all education boards, introducing a major reform aimed at standardising student assessments across the province. Under the new system, examinations in core subjects such as English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology will be conducted using a single, unified framework.
The reform will initially be applied to Grades 9 and 10, with question papers developed based on a common syllabus and a standardized Table of Specifications rather than individual textbooks. This approach is intended to ensure consistency in assessment design and learning outcomes across all boards.
Education Minister Sardar Ali Shah said the Uniform Examination Standard will promote transparency and fairness while removing long-standing disparities between different examination boards. He added that the new system is designed to shift the focus away from rote memorization and toward conceptual understanding, application of knowledge, and critical thinking skills, helping students develop a stronger academic foundation.
