Renowned journalist and television anchor Iqrar ul Hassan has officially stepped into politics, announcing the launch of a nationwide movement focused on empowering Pakistan’s youth and strengthening institutional democracy. While the name of his political party has not yet been revealed, Iqrar emphasized that the initiative aims to shift Pakistan’s political culture away from personality-based leadership toward a system rooted in merit, transparency, and democratic accountability.

He shared that administrative committees will soon be established across the country, which will later evolve into a structured political organization. Leadership roles within this movement will be determined through open voting rather than personal influence, ensuring broader participation.

Iqrar ul Hassan highlighted the need for a new generation of leaders and urged that politics should not remain limited to powerful families or established figures. “If Nawaz Sharif, Zardari, or Khan can become leaders, why can’t a common man?” he stated, underscoring his vision of inclusive leadership and citizen-driven governance.
