Samsung has unveiled its most expensive foldable smartphone to date, the Galaxy Z TriFold, priced at $2,443—more than double the cost of the newly released iPhone 17. Set to launch on December 12, the device features a 10-inch triple-fold display with a sleek black finish, weighs 309 grams, and measures less than 0.2 inches at its thinnest point, combining portability with a large, versatile screen.

The Galaxy Z TriFold incorporates advanced generative AI tools that provide real-time assistance through screen or camera sharing, enhancing productivity and user experience. Samsung has positioned the device as a “special edition,” emphasizing that it is not intended for mass-market sales but rather as a showcase of cutting-edge innovation in foldable technology.

Despite Samsung’s advancements in foldable smartphones, Apple is projected to overtake Samsung in global smartphone market share for the first time in 14 years, highlighting the continued competitiveness and evolving dynamics of the global smartphone industry.
