The Directorate of Immigration and Passports has streamlined the passport application process by launching an online system through its e-Services Portal, allowing citizens to apply for Pakistan passports without standing in long queues. Applicants can access the service at the official website and submit passport renewal applications online.
For users with an existing account, the process begins by logging in. New users must register by filling out the registration form with accurate details, including a valid mobile number and email address. After entering the information and the verification code, a confirmation link is sent via email. Clicking the link and entering the code completes the registration, after which users can log in using their email and password.
The online portal provides five application options, enabling applicants to select the service that meets their specific needs. Passport renewals can only be processed online if the existing passport has less than one year of validity remaining. Major changes such as updates to name or occupation are not permitted through the online system.
Applicants can choose their nearest passport office from a drop-down menu, minimizing travel requirements for any in-person visits. The portal also specifies the photograph requirements for both men and women. Uploaded files must not exceed 1 MB and should be in PNG, JPG, or JPEG formats. This digital service simplifies the application process, reduces waiting times, and provides greater convenience for citizens seeking passport services.
