The AFOx Graduate Scholarships 2026-27 offer fully funded opportunities for ambitious African students to pursue a one-year MBA program at the University of Oxford. This prestigious scholarship is a collaboration between the Mastercard Foundation, the Africa Oxford Initiative (AfOx), and Oxford Saïd Business School. Designed for emerging African leaders with a strong academic record and a passion for driving social impact, the scholarship aims to empower individuals who are committed to contributing to the development of Africa.

Each year, up to five exceptional candidates will be selected to join the Oxford MBA program under the AFOx Graduate Scholarships. In addition to academic excellence, applicants must demonstrate at least two years of work experience, leadership potential, and a proven commitment to making a difference in their communities. This opportunity is available to African citizens or those who are ordinarily resident in Africa and meet the University of Oxford’s MBA admission requirements, including GMAT or GRE scores, references, and relevant documentation.

The scholarship provides full tuition coverage for the MBA program, along with a generous stipend of at least £20,780 to support living expenses in the UK. It also includes access to leadership development training, mentorship opportunities, and tailored support throughout the scholar’s academic journey at Oxford. The program encourages long-term engagement by offering guidance before, during, and after the student’s time at the university, ensuring a well-rounded experience.

To apply, candidates must first complete the standard application for the Oxford MBA program and indicate their interest in being considered for the Mastercard Foundation AfOx Scholarship. No separate application form is required. Applicants should submit a full set of supporting documents, including academic transcripts, a current resume, a personal statement, professional or academic references, and GMAT or GRE scores. The deadline for applications is January 7, 2026. Shortlisted candidates may be invited for interviews as part of the final selection process.

This scholarship not only covers the financial burden of studying abroad but also opens doors to global networking, professional development, and meaningful collaboration aimed at transforming Africa’s future through education and leadership.
