PSL Announces Multiple Bidders for Multan Sultans Franchise

The Pakistan Super League has confirmed that six bids have been submitted for the ownership of Multan Sultans as competition heats up ahead of PSL 11. The PCB shared the update on its official social media accounts, revealing the number of parties participating in the bidding process for the 2021 PSL champions.

The sale process officially began on January 14, 2025, when the Pakistan Cricket Board invited interested groups to submit proposals and bids for the franchise rights. The original deadline for technical proposals was January 30 but was later revised.

Multan Sultans became available after former owner Ali Tareen announced in November that he would step away from the team following over a year of strained relations with the PCB. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi stated that the board would take control of the franchise once the existing agreement expired on December 31, 2025. Initially, the PCB was expected to manage the team for a season before selling it in 2027, but rising franchise valuations encouraged an earlier sale.

In the previous franchise auction at Jinnah Convention Centre, FKS Group and OZ Developers acquired the newly added Hyderabad and Sialkot teams for Rs. 1.75 billion and Rs. 1.85 billion, respectively, expanding the PSL to eight teams for season 11. PSL 11 is scheduled to start on March 26, with the player auction set for February 11.
