After a five-year hiatus, Pakistan International Airlines has resumed its direct flight service from Islamabad to Manchester, marking a significant milestone in the national carrier’s global operations. The Boeing 777 successfully completed the journey in just over five hours, where it was welcomed at Manchester Airport by an enthusiastic crowd chanting “Pakistan Zindabad,” celebrating the airline’s long-awaited return.

The relaunch of this direct route comes after a formal inauguration ceremony led by Federal Minister for Aviation and Defence Khawaja Asif, with British High Commissioner Jane Marriott also in attendance. This renewed connection between Pakistan and the United Kingdom is expected to greatly benefit thousands of travelers, particularly the Pakistani diaspora in northern England, by providing a faster and more convenient travel option.

The resumption of Islamabad–Manchester flights highlights Pakistan International Airlines’ broader efforts to restore its global network, improve international connectivity, and strengthen diplomatic and economic ties between the two nations.
