Pakistan plans to introduce advanced security features in its passports to prevent forgery and strengthen document integrity, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced on Friday.
During his visit to the Beijing Public Security Passport Bureau, Naqvi was briefed on China’s state-of-the-art passport issuance and immigration control systems. He toured the Exit and Entry Administration Bureau, observing the entire passport production process—from application verification to printing and final issuance. Chinese officials also provided detailed insights into their immigration policies and operational procedures.
Praising the efficiency and speed of China’s entry-exit system, Naqvi described it as a model for modern governance. He stated that Pakistan’s passport and immigration framework, already fast and secure, is being upgraded to align with international standards. The modernisation efforts will focus on technology-driven solutions, enhanced security features, and streamlined processing.
The initiative is part of Pakistan’s broader strategy to modernise its immigration infrastructure, safeguard documents, and prevent misuse or forgery.
