Pakistan’s largest private LPG producer, Jamshoro Joint Ventures Limited, has resumed operations after a 5.5-year shutdown, sending out its first LPG shipment on Thursday. The restart marks an important boost for the country’s energy sector, particularly at a time when stable LPG supplies are critical for households and industry.
The company’s advanced processing facilities in Jamshoro, Sindh, are equipped with Ortloff technology, known for delivering high propane recovery rates and meeting international efficiency benchmarks. These plants were engineered, commissioned, and are operated by the Houston-based company Exterran, ensuring technical precision and consistent performance.
JJVL’s revival follows the Sui Southern Gas Company’s recent approval of a key agreement enabling the extraction of LPG and natural gas liquids. The resumption of operations is expected to enhance Pakistan’s domestic LPG production capacity, improve supply reliability, and reduce dependence on imported fuel, strengthening the overall stability of the national energy supply chain.
