The Pakistan Air Force has successfully carried out the flight test of the indigenously developed Taimoor Weapon System, marking a major milestone in the country’s growing aerospace and defence capabilities. The successful test highlights Pakistan’s progress toward technological self-reliance and innovation in advanced military systems.

The Taimoor air-launched cruise missile is capable of accurately engaging both land and sea-based targets at a range of up to 600 kilometers while carrying a conventional warhead. It is equipped with a modern navigation and guidance system and is designed to fly at very low altitudes, allowing it to evade hostile air defence and missile interception systems effectively.

This precision-strike capability significantly strengthens the conventional deterrence of the Pakistan Air Force and enhances its operational flexibility. The successful flight test reflects the increasing technical maturity and indigenous expertise of Pakistan’s defence industry, reinforcing the country’s overall defence posture.

Senior officers of the Pakistan Armed Forces witnessed the launch, along with scientists and engineers who played a key role in the development of the weapon system. Their presence underscored the collaborative effort behind the successful completion of the project.

Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff of the Pakistan Air Force, congratulated the scientists, engineers, and PAF personnel on achieving this important milestone. He praised their professionalism, dedication, and commitment to strengthening national defence capabilities.

The Air Chief emphasized that such achievements demonstrate Pakistan’s resolve to achieve technological self-sufficiency and maintain a credible conventional deterrent amid evolving regional security challenges. The successful test of the Taimoor Weapon System reflects the Pakistan Air Force’s continued focus on operational readiness, technological advancement, and the safeguarding of national security.
