Sindh Sets New Fire Safety Requirements for Private Schools

0 0

The Education Department has ordered the immediate enforcement of fire safety protocols in all private educational institutions. Schools are now required to install fire alarms, smoke detectors, and fire extinguishers, and ensure that emergency exits and stairways remain open and unobstructed.

Regular inspections of electrical systems must be conducted to reduce fire risks, and fire evacuation plans should be displayed prominently on campus. Schools are also required to hold fire drills at least twice a year and provide mandatory fire safety training for teachers and staff. Special safety measures must be implemented for students with disabilities, and clear assembly points must be designated for use during emergencies.

The department has warned that strict action will be taken against institutions that fail to comply with these fire safety directives.
