Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU) in Islamabad has announced a strategic partnership with the University of Cambridge to foster research and innovation across key scientific and technological fields, including materials science, clean energy, aerospace, healthcare, and digital technology. The agreement was formalized during a special ceremony at Cambridge University, signaling a commitment to strengthen academic collaboration and facilitate knowledge exchange between the two prestigious institutions.
As part of the initiative, the first 100 days will focus on research exchanges, industry collaborations, and development projects aimed at establishing a strong foundation for long-term cooperation. The signing ceremony was attended by Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, QAU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Akhtar, and senior representatives from Cambridge University, highlighting the high-level support for this partnership.
Officials emphasized that the collaboration aligns with Pakistan’s increasing focus on international academic partnerships to drive scientific innovation and address global research challenges. By combining the expertise and resources of QAU and Cambridge, the initiative aims to advance cutting-edge research, enhance technical capabilities, and create opportunities for students and researchers to engage in impactful, globally relevant projects.
This partnership is expected to open avenues for joint publications, technology transfer, and capacity-building programs, further positioning Pakistan as an active participant in the global scientific community while promoting sustainable development and innovation-driven growth.
