Federal Minister for Power Awais Leghari has directed all power companies to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply during Sehr and Iftar throughout Ramazan. The Power Division has issued Standard Operating Procedures to all power distribution companies, including K-Electric, emphasizing priority supply during peak Ramazan hours. Distribution Companies have been instructed to promptly address consumer complaints and establish dedicated control rooms for monitoring and coordination.
The directives also highlight managing high-loss areas as part of the ongoing anti-power theft campaign, ensuring that while load management may occur, no load shedding will take place during Sehr and Iftar. Adjustments in high-loss areas will be implemented outside these peak hours, and unannounced outages are to be avoided to prevent inconvenience.
The measures aim to protect consumers while preventing an increase in arrears and financial losses within the power sector during Ramazan.
