Applications are now open for the Nottingham Developing Solutions Masters Scholarship for the 2026–27 academic year, offering international students a valuable opportunity to pursue a fully funded or partially funded master’s degree in the United Kingdom. This prestigious scholarship is offered by the University of Nottingham and provides tuition fee coverage ranging from 50% to 100% for eligible candidates.

The Developing Solutions Masters Scholarship is specifically designed for students from Africa, South Asia, and selected Commonwealth countries who demonstrate strong academic potential and a clear commitment to contributing to the development of their home countries. The scholarship targets motivated and innovative individuals who aim to address key economic, social, environmental, structural, or political challenges through their education and future careers.

First launched in 2001, the Nottingham Developing Solutions Scholarship is one of the university’s flagship funding programs for international students. It supports one-year full-time master’s programs and is available for courses offered within the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, and Faculty of Social Sciences. The University of Nottingham consistently ranks among the top 20 universities in the UK and is internationally recognised for its academic excellence, research impact, and global outlook.

This scholarship not only reduces the financial burden of studying in the UK but also provides scholars with access to world-class teaching, advanced research facilities, and the opportunity to learn alongside leading academics and experts in their fields. Students selected for the program benefit from international exposure, practical research experience, and valuable networking opportunities that can support long-term professional growth and leadership development. The initiative aims to empower future leaders who will return to their countries equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to drive sustainable development.

The scholarship is open to applicants from all African countries as well as selected Commonwealth nations, including Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Maldives, and several Caribbean and Pacific states. To be eligible, applicants must be classified as overseas students for fee purposes and must hold an offer to study a full-time master’s degree (including MRes programs) at the University of Nottingham for the 2026–27 academic year. Current students or graduates of the University of Nottingham, as well as those already studying in the UK, are not eligible to apply.

Successful candidates will receive either a 50% or 100% tuition fee waiver, depending on the scholarship award. While the scholarship does not cover living expenses, it significantly reduces the overall cost of studying in the UK and allows students to focus on academic and research excellence. Applicants must first apply for admission to their chosen master’s program and secure an offer before submitting a scholarship application through the university’s online system. Some courses may require an application fee.

The deadline to apply for the Nottingham Developing Solutions Masters Scholarship for the 2026 intake is April 15, 2026. Interested candidates are strongly advised to apply well in advance to ensure they have sufficient time to secure an admission offer and complete the scholarship application process.
