Imperial College London has opened applications for the President’s PhD Scholarships 2027, a fully funded doctoral program designed to attract top research talent globally. The scheme offers up to 50 scholarships for the 2026–2027 academic year, providing comprehensive financial support for the full 3.5‑year PhD.

Recipients receive full tuition coverage, a £26,500 annual living stipend, and a £2,000 yearly research consumables allowance for the first three years. Scholars also gain access to professional development, cohort activities, and events through Imperial’s Early Career Researcher Institute. The program supports both domestic and international students, and candidates can pursue either full‑time or part‑time study.

The scholarships are available across a broad range of disciplines, including Engineering, Natural Sciences, Medicine, Business and Management, Computing, Mathematics, Life Sciences, and more. Applicants must apply for a new PhD program at Imperial, hold (or be on track to obtain) a first‑class bachelor’s degree or a distinction in a Master’s degree, demonstrate strong academic and research potential, and secure agreement from a supervising faculty member.

There is no separate scholarship application; departments nominate candidates based on academic merit and research promise. Deadlines for the 2027 cohort typically occur in November 2025, January 2026, and March 2026. Successful applicants are selected following departmental and College-level assessments.

The President’s PhD Scholarships provide an opportunity for exceptional researchers to conduct high-impact work at one of the world’s leading institutions while receiving full financial and academic support.
