The Russian Government has opened applications for its Scholarship Program for the academic year 2026–2027, giving Pakistani students the opportunity to study in Russia for Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD degrees in a wide range of academic fields. The program is being administered exclusively by the Russian Center for Science and Culture, also known as the Russian House in Karachi, which is the only authorized institution in Pakistan responsible for scholarship nominations. The placement of students will be managed directly by the Russian Ministry of Science and Education to ensure transparency and proper allocation of study programs.

This fully funded scholarship covers the entire tuition and admission fees for the selected degree, along with a monthly stipend to help students manage their expenses during their stay in Russia. However, it does not include airfare, accommodation, or daily living costs, which students will need to arrange independently. The deadline for submitting applications is January 15, 2026, and all submissions must be made through the official Russian education portal. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.

To apply, students must register on the official website, select their desired field of study and education level, and choose up to six preferred universities in order of priority. Once the application is submitted, no changes can be made, so applicants are advised to carefully review all details before final submission. Required documents include a valid passport, educational certificates, and transcripts relevant to the degree level. Candidates for undergraduate programs must upload their Higher Secondary School Certificate or equivalent qualification, while those applying for Master’s programs must provide their Bachelor’s degree and transcript. PhD candidates need to include a Master’s degree, transcript, a copy of their research paper, list of publications, and a recommendation letter from the Russian university where they wish to study.

Applicants graduating in 2026 must submit their 10th and 11th class mark sheets along with a letter from their school or university confirming that they are final-year students and will complete their studies in 2026. Applications must be marked as submitted, as drafts will not be considered. The selection process will be merit-based, evaluating candidates on academic achievements, portfolios such as research work, participation in international competitions, and sports or creative accomplishments. Some fields may also require additional creative or technical assessments.

Successful applicants will later need to provide a medical fitness certificate, health reports confirming the absence of HIV, hepatitis B and C, and tuberculosis, and certified translations of all academic documents into Russian. These translations must be verified by the Russian Consulate and uploaded before the final deadline.

The Russian Government Scholarship 2026–2027 presents an excellent opportunity for Pakistani students to pursue higher education in one of the world’s most academically diverse and research-oriented countries. It aims to strengthen educational cooperation between Pakistan and Russia, enhance global learning exposure for Pakistani youth, and prepare skilled professionals in science, technology, medicine, and the humanities. For queries or assistance regarding the application process, students can contact the Russian House in Karachi via email.
