Abu Dhabi has been named the world’s happiest city for 2025, topping the Time Out Index based on positive feedback from its residents. The ranking reflects strong perceptions of quality of life, community connection, and personal fulfillment among those living in the city. The global index, which evaluates responses to key statements about happiness, belonging, and daily satisfaction, placed Abu Dhabi first, followed by Medellín, Cape Town, and Mexico City. Mumbai secured fifth place, with Beijing and Shanghai ranking sixth and seventh. The top ten also included Chicago, Seville, and Melbourne. Dubai was ranked 16th, joining other notable cities such as Brighton, Porto, Sydney, Chiang Mai, and Marrakech. The final entries in the top 20 were Hanoi, Jakarta, Valencia, and Glasgow. The results highlight how urban environments can foster emotional well-being through a strong sense of community and overall life satisfaction, with Abu Dhabi emerging as a global leader in resident happiness for 2025.
