The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that Pakistan and Afghanistan have reached a ceasefire agreement after 13 hours of negotiations in Doha. The two sides also agreed to set up a permanent mechanism aimed at fostering mutual peace and stability, with a follow-up meeting planned to ensure the ceasefire's implementation and durability.
The official statement emphasized that this agreement will help strengthen peace, security, and stability between the two neighboring Islamic countries, offering a path toward reducing border tensions and encouraging long-term regional harmony.
Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif acknowledged the development on social media, noting that the agreement signals an end to cross-border terrorist activity originating from Afghan territory.
