The Punjab government has discontinued free nursing education in government colleges, introducing tuition and hostel fees for students. Additionally, the monthly stipend previously provided to nursing students has been removed.

Under the revised admissions policy, female applicants must now have a minimum of 50% marks in FSc and hold a Punjab domicile. Male students will only be admitted to Shahdara Teaching Hospital’s Nursing College.

Seat allocation under the new policy includes 3,100 seats for morning shifts and 3,000 for evening shifts in government nursing colleges. Teaching hospital nursing colleges will offer 100 seats each, while district hospitals will provide 50 seats per shift. This policy change marks a significant shift in nursing education access in Punjab, impacting both financial support and eligibility requirements for students.
