TV host Tabish Hashmi expressed his deep affection for Karachi while hosting a program alongside the city’s Mayor, Murtaza Wahab, admitting that his emotions surfaced during the discussion. He acknowledged that the city’s challenges are decades old and cannot be attributed solely to the current administration.
Hashmi highlighted persistent issues such as broken roads, unmanaged garbage, and overpopulation, emphasizing that a true understanding of Karachi comes from witnessing life beyond its affluent neighborhoods. He stressed that the city’s problems are deeply rooted and require long-term, sustainable solutions rather than short-term fixes or assigning immediate blame. His comments reflected both concern for Karachi’s residents and a call for thoughtful, strategic approaches to addressing the urban challenges faced by the metropolis.
