Lahore Electric Supply Company has halted the installation of solar green meters following directives from the Ministry of Energy, affecting thousands of consumers. While the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority had previously approved these meters, LESCO and other distribution companies must now comply with the ministry’s order, putting new installations on hold.
The suspension impacts both residential and industrial users, and officials indicated that the ban could remain in place for one to two months. New solar green meters will only be installed after the ministry issues a revised policy, leaving consumers and businesses waiting for updated guidance.
