Actor Nauman Ijaz sharply criticized the authorities for what he called misguided priorities, pointing out that the government invested crores of rupees in installing cameras for e-challans but failed to take basic steps like covering open manholes to protect human lives.
He said the focus on revenue-generation tools, while ignoring essential public safety measures, reflects a serious governance gap. According to Ijaz, preventing accidents and ensuring safe roads should be treated as a fundamental responsibility, not an afterthought.
His remarks have added to growing public outrage over recurring incidents caused by neglected infrastructure, with many citizens demanding immediate action to fix hazardous manholes across major cities.
