The Karachi administration has announced the official retail price of fresh milk at Rs. 220 per liter, according to a notification issued by Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi. This order, issued under Section 7 of the Sindh Essential Commodities Price Control and Prevention of Profiteering and Hoarding Act, 2005, also sets the dairy farm price at Rs. 200 per liter and the wholesale price at Rs. 208 per liter. These rates are effective immediately and will remain in force until further notice.
The commissioner directed that no individual or association is allowed to announce or sell milk at rates different from the officially approved prices. The sale of milk in seer has also been prohibited, and all transactions must follow the per-liter standard.
The notification emphasizes that milk quality and hygiene must adhere to prescribed SOPs. Authorities will display the order at prominent locations throughout the city to ensure public awareness and full enforcement.
