Muhammad Abu Bakr, a 10-year-old blind boy from Karachi, has achieved first place in the international Quran recitation competition held in Jakarta, Indonesia, under the Rabita Alam Islami’s “Tahfeez and Qira’at” program.
A dedicated student of Madrassa Dar Al-Islah Lil Tahfeez Wal Tajweed, Abu Bakr impressed the judges with his flawless recitation, competing against talented participants from various Islamic countries. His performance showcased exceptional memorization, pronunciation, and mastery of Tajweed rules, earning him the top honor in the competition.
His father, who serves as a mosque caretaker, and his teacher, Qari Islahullah Sadiq, expressed immense pride in his accomplishment, describing it as a moment of national honor for Pakistan. Abu Bakr’s achievement serves as an inspiring example, demonstrating that determination, talent, and perseverance can overcome physical challenges and achieve excellence on an international stage.
