Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif inaugurated the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme 2025 distribution in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, highlighting the program as a transformative initiative aimed at empowering the country’s youth. Speaking at the University of Haripur, the prime minister emphasized that the scheme goes beyond merely providing laptops to students—it is designed to create an ecosystem that enables young people to unlock their potential, excel academically, and compete on a global stage.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by government officials, youth leaders, and numerous beneficiaries, many of whom expressed gratitude for the program, which has already benefited over a million students nationwide. A special documentary presented at the event highlighted the scheme’s achievements since its inception in 2013, illustrating its impact on education, technology access, and youth empowerment. The documentary also showcased the 2025 vision under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership, emphasizing the continued focus on providing opportunities and resources to Pakistan’s students.
In his address, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated his long-standing commitment to youth development, emphasizing merit-based opportunities as a key driver of national progress. He stated that the future of Pakistan rests with its students, who possess the talent and capability to achieve global recognition. Drawing on his experience in youth empowerment dating back to 1997, the prime minister stressed that education, technology, and skill development are crucial for building a skilled workforce capable of contributing to Pakistan’s socio-economic growth.
The prime minister also highlighted the importance of balanced development across all provinces, noting that national progress depends on uplifting every region equally. He cited examples from his tenure as Chief Minister of Punjab, including sending 600 students to China for advanced training, training 1,000 students in agriculture, and providing technological resources through the laptop program. Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that Pakistan’s development is a collective effort that relies on holistic growth and empowerment of youth in every part of the country, ensuring equal opportunities and sustainable progress for all citizens.
